About me.
Hi! I’m Kaye-Marie, born and bred in New Zealand.
I call myself the Healthy Rebel, because right from an early age I was choosing the lesser known options in life, going with my gut feeling and not scared of being a bit different. I tried things, but really just needed to avoid following the crowd. With red hair, blue eyes and being left-handed, that wasn’t too hard from the beginning! Rebel from birth, you could say.
With a Bachelor in Sport & Recreation, Graduate Diploma in Teaching (AND Grad Dip in Social Anthropology!) plus 20 years of teaching experience in 4 different countries, I pivoted to Pilates when I arrived in Austria almost 10 years ago. Although I left a lot behind me, I didn't leave my passion for educating others, or my belief of health & wellbeing being a basic right for everyone.
So after completing my BASI Pilates training in 2019, I was brave enough to open the Healthy Rebel Pilates Studio in 2020.
With a combination of my teaching experience and relaxed, playful personality I’ve already help many people find their inner core, inner strength and inner rebel through Pilates.
Also a seasoned traveller, eco-warrior, easy-going sun-seeker, fan of punk rock / 90’s alt rock, a wife & mum.
Helping me out
Deborah Illek
Hi, I’m Deborah
A Pilates teacher – and someone who’s found her balance alongside a desk job.
I always feel better when I move regularly – but to be honest: I often have to push myself to get started. That’s exactly why I know how valuable it is to have a space where movement feels accessible, non-judgmental, and supportive – especially on those days when motivation is low.
I discovered Pilates over ten years ago, and it stuck with me.
This calm, controlled way of moving is exactly my thing.
I work in a classic office setting – lots of sitting, lots of thinking – and still, I usually have enough energy for Pilates.
It brings me back into connection with myself, releases tension, and strengthens my body from the inside out.
It’s the easiest way for me to stay consistent, because it doesn’t drain me – it builds me up.
The BASI mat training took my personal practice to a whole new level. I’ve experienced just how much power lies in the small, refined movements – and how deeply the body responds when the execution is precise. That’s exactly what I love to share in my classes.
I’m excited to meet you – whether you're feeling motivated or just dragging yourself to the mat. We’ll do it together.
